Don't Choo Love It?

I loved what Martyn Lawrence-Bullard did in the last photos I saw of one of Tamara Mellon's homes, so I was happy when I stumbled on these photos of her NYC apartment on the Harper's Bazaar website.

The upstairs living room. I adore the fact that it's comfortable and stylish.

Great wallpaper. Is it just me or is there a Kelly Wearstler vibe in this place?

Love the unique chairs and the floor.

A Terence Koh neon-light installation in the metallic foyer.

Fab vibrant colours and prints in daughter Minty's room.

Love the wall hanging. Looks familiar.

Tamara in a dress by Victoria Beckham (and killer shoes, natch) at her Maison Jansen desk.

You may not know this about me, but I have a major snake phobia. I can't even look at them and I don't even own anything snakeskin. So while I love the couch in this photo I can't even post it here, because the artwork above it totally creeps me out. I can't imagine living with this day in and day out.

And to clear my head of the creepy crawlies let's have a moment of silence for a closet full of Choos. Over a thousand of them. *sigh*

Design Crush: Martyn Lawrence-Bullard

After seeing Martyn Lawrence-Bullard's work for Tamara Mellon in ELLE Decor I was hooked. I went looking for other examples of what I knew would be dazzling rooms by his firm and I wasn't disappointed. My current love of Moroccan-influenced interiors made me love Lawrence-Bullard's style even more. The Moorish edge to a lot of his rooms just adds glam and drama. Obviously Lawrence-Bullard's skills are well known as the L.A.-based designer's clients range from Damon Dash to Christina Aguilera.

{Love the red, white, and black--the rugs, the busts, the embroidery.}

{Doesn't this seem like the perfect game table?}

{Fabu pink sofa + gold accents = Perfection}

{This bed is to die for--see below! And the chest! Want. It.}

{Great console and animal print chairs. Fun way to display the art.}

A girl can dream, right?

Went to the Toronto FC home opener last night. Its always a fun environment at BMO Field (which has grass now--that they were constantly watering, can that be helpful to the players?!) and they did win, so that's a bonus. Thing is they pretty much suck. Even with one more man and a penalty shot they almost lost. Their best set-up went off the cross bar in the last minutes denying Dwayne DeRosario a hat trick. Anyhoo, it was a fun night out...Speaking of soccer, today is a big game in European Serie A Soccer: Inter v. Juventus, in what is known as il derby d'Italia. Fingers crossed Inter pulls out a win!

Beautiful Room: 04.13.10

This is Tamara Mellon's bedroom. Anyone surprised by its fabulosity? The embroidered bed skirt and pillows by Silk Trading Co. are so unique and delicate. Just beautiful. And how freakin' great are the 1940s bedside tables and those mercury-glass lamps?! And the tapestry and the plush rug just pull the whole dreamy, elegant room together. I don't know if I could really do a mostly white bedroom but I do know one thing, this photo makes me want one. Like, yesterday. With a closet full of Choos.
