Marvel Moves On Venom without Topher Grace

Long time Spider-Man fans know Venom was a great addition to his universe. You also know Spider-Man 3 fouled up the Venom character in the same way the Wolverine's Origin storyline fouled up Deadpool.

But to Marvel's credit, they usually recognize a screw up and attempt to right wrongs. Example, Hulk being rebooted immediately.

Now with Venom slotted for his own flick the good news is Avi Arad is still involved as a producer. Topher Grace is out as Eddie Brock (Venom) due to other film commitments. But it makes sense. Topher is too intellectual to play Brock. Brock was a wanna be hero and ultimately left New York for San Francisco to become his own vigilante of sorts. He always maintained his hate for Peter Parker but did in fact become an super hero in his own right, just one with an edge.

As it is now Gary Ross has negotiated a re-write of Venom and early signs are he intends to stick to the original comic book story-line. Let's hope.
