Good Riddance! "Jon and Kate Plus 8" Cancelled

The Gosselin family rose to stardom as one of America's most beloved super-sized families with TLC's show Jon and Kate Plus 8, but what was once innocent and sweet quickly went sour and became one of the most highly-publicized, bitter divorces ever to plague the media. If you're like us here at PCM, by now you're probably pretty sick of the whole "he said, she said" fiasco that has been making headlines for months. Luckily, the hype may be (hopefully) dying down with this announcement from a TLC spokeswoman: "Jon and Kate Plus 8 is ending in mid-to-late November, as previously reported." The statement, made to The New York Post, puts an end to the show that was to be re-made as simply Kate Plus 8, which prompted Jon Gosselin to forbid TLC from filming his eight kids for the show and evict crew members from his home. However, it's not quite over yet, as TLC is still planning on airing a few remaining episodes from existing footage before next month. After that, it will be reruns galore. Let's all breathe a collective sigh of relief.

Divorce On The Way for Jon & Kate!

People magazine is reporting that Jon and Kate Gosselin have filed divorce papers at the Bucks County Courthouse in Pennslyvania. This news comes before the airing of tonight's episode of "Jon & Kate Plus Eight" which promised a huge announcement, because by now I am pretty sure we can all safely assume what that announcment is going to be....not to mention Jon was spotted this past weekend searching out swanky apartments at Trump Plaza in New York City. No additonal information was given regarding the divorce papers and I am sure some more info will be revealed on tonight's episode airing on TLC.

I feel so bad for those children caught up in this huge media fire storm, hopefully they will continue to have meaningful relationships equally with both parents, or has the damange already been done? Let's just hope most of the divorce proceedings stay out of the tabloids, however I can see an new frenzy starting over this news!

UPDATE: The announcement has been made, and just as suspected Jon & Kate are indeed separating. It certainly made for an awkward episode of the show! Jon plans to move out of the home and no doubt all the details will be revealed in the coming months through the tabloid frenzy. Wonder how much money TLC will offer the pair to reconcile?

The fate of Jon and Kate Plus 8

Reality TV stars Jon and Kate Gosselin admit to be going through a "rough patch" in their marriage. It is rumored that Jon has cheated on Kate with a 23-year-old teacher; he continues to deny the rumor, but did admit to using "poor judgment." Kate is not sure she believes him and when asked if they will split up she said, "I'm not going to rule it out, I'm not going to rule it in."
However, Kate may not be completely innocent either because there is some talk of her cheating on Jon with her body guard. Of course she claims that this is untrue and calls the allegations "disgusting, unthinkable, unfathomable." Will Jon and Kate Plus 8 continue or will it become Jon minus 9?

'Jon & Kate Plus 8' Renewed!

TLC announced today that Jon & Kate Plus 8 will return for a fifth season. The fate of the TLC show, which follows Jon and Kate Gosselin as they raise 8-year-old twins and 4-year-old sextuplets, was left up in the air during the finale of season four.

The popular show that attracted record ratings for its March 23 finale will join a busy roster of returning programs, such as 18 Kids and Counting, A Baby Story, American Chopper, What Not to Wear, and Little People, Big World.

The Gosselin's marriage has also been a topic of media conversation lately. Jon was also spotlighted in the tabloids, showing photos of him partying with college girls at a bar. During the finale of last season, Jon Gosselin revealed he was not happy with being in the spotlight. But it looks like they're going to be back with an all new season. Suck it up, Jon, people love your family and want to see more!
