Beautiful Home: 02.03.10

I've fallen in love with the glamorous Illionois home of Amy and John DiTomasso, designed by Kara Mann and Kristin Nelson of Kara Mann Design, and featured in Traditional Home.

Silk drapes, matching settees, and calm,
neutral metallics in the living room.

Settee detail.  Love the silver leaf and the Greek key on the pillow.

So glam - love the mirrored table against the damask-papered panel
and silver wall. Bench covered in "Flamingo" fabric by Cortina Leathers.

The silver leaf on the ceilings and the antiquing on the paneled walls
really adds an element of drama to the hallway, lined by Schonbek
chandeliers reflected in a custom Trumeau by Armand Lee & Co.

The airy and comfortable kitchen with a great island for the family
to gather around designed by De Giulio Kitchen Design Inc.

This little vignette makes my heart stop.  I adore the Pyrenees console
from Caché and the chic collection of Hermès boxes underneath.
Photographs by David Halliday.

You know a house is glam when this is the butler's pantry.
Teardrop chandelier from Bodo Sperlein Ltd.

Family room with game table in the corner.

The master bedroom with Paul Villinski butterfly sculpture on
the wall above the custom bed.  I think putting matching vintage
mirrors over the bedside tables and their rock-crystal lamps is a
great idea, really adding to the drama of the room.
