Beautiful Home: 02.05.10

How lovely is the Dallas home of Natalie and Matthew Perry?  It was designed by Mary Anne Smiley (who also did the interior of a lake house for Laura and George W.) The photos were featured in Traditional Home.

There are so many great elements in the living room.
The whites and blues, the hardwood floors, the fireplace,
torchieres, and the Barcelona chairs. Love.

Hand-painted Nomi fabrics were used for the drapes. The rug is a
custom wool Kelly Wearstler and the chandelier is 1960-vintage Venini.

I'm a sucker for a banquette in a kitchen and this one is no different.
The chairs and chandelier were repurposed pieces already owned by
Mr. Perry's family.  Smiley turned the coral chanelier upside down
and painted it red to give it a new lease on life.

How great is the reimagining of this traditional French secretary?
Smiley painted it in black, red, and gold for a glam new look.

I love how the dining room manages to be bright and formal
all at the same time.  For the round dining table Smiley removed
the original base and replaced it with an acrylic one of her design.
The mirrored base was then cut in half and used for two console tables.

To make the house light and airy Smiley used a light wall
colour in the foyer and kept the original metal staircase, using
it as inspiration for the new front door she designed.

Happy Weekend!
